A slug, SLUGS!

Landmark #5 (Garden/Take Care of Animals)

While playing in our own yard the children began exploring in our loose wood pile for constructing. They discovered a long piece that was laying near the garden and flipped it over yelling loud for everyone “A slug, slugs!” Many children joined in with their educator for a closer look. The children observed very intently, some even reaching out to see how they felt beneath their finger tips. They were all so engaged in watching how the slugs moved along the wood or showed deep concern as they fell off the wood onto the ground. There were so many slugs on this wood piece which supported some great conversations.
