Deep Connections

Landmark 7 (Books, Songs, Games Weekly)

We read “That Chickadee Feeling” by Frank Glew. In this story, a child who is really bored, goes outside to the local park and meets a chickadee! The child feels so happy inside and soon discovers that you can have that “chickadee feeling”, even without the chickadee. To deepen connections to this story, our class worked on Journal entries about something that makes us feel happy, like the chickadee feeling. We also created birds using shapes we know (a big circle and a little circle). Some students began bringing back stories of birds they have seen around where they live.
