Treats for our Bird Friends

Landmark 5 (Garden/Care for Animal)

The kindergartens are interested in all kinds of animals and we’ve been trying to notice birds around us more lately. We read “Stranger in the Woods” by and “Night Tree” by. In both stories, humans care for winter creatures by putting out food for them. Maybe we could also help our winter bird friends. Being a virtual Kindergarten class, teachers are not able to provide the materials for activities, as we normally would. However, some students in our class took the invitation to make their own bird feeders. They strung pieces of fruit onto a loop and put fat and seeds on pinecones. Our bird friends are so lucky!
