Marv the Bunny

Landmark 7 (Books, Songs, Games Weekly)

We recently met our adopted pet from Riverview Park and Zoo, Marv the bunny. Marv is mostly white, has big ears, long whiskers, and a mustache! And he is so cute! We learned that his fur turns whiter in the winter to camouflage with the snow. This got the kindergartens thinking and asking questions about animal camouflage, predators, and prey. So we read the book North Country Night, by Daniel San Souci. We read about many animals who are out at night and how they look for food or shelter. The story also describes predator and prey relationships between the night animals of a forest.
