Signs of Spring

Landmark 11 (Celebrate each Season)

We celebrated the start of Spring. Our teacher candidate Ms. Lancashire led the lesson. We started with a discussion of changes in nature such as more rain and the return of animals from hibernation and migration. We then learned more about local animals they might see and hear in the spring through seeing the animals and listening to an audio recording of their call and another animal to see if we could hear it correctly (we did a robin, cardinal, and spring peeper frog). After the lesson about spring, the students were introduced to a checklist of signs of spring. We then went on a community walk to see if we could find any signs of spring on the checklist.
