Dairy Farm Visit
Landmark 2 (Animal Friends Monthly)
During our Google meet we visited virtually one of our students Dairy Farm. We talked about what happens on a dairy farm, how the cows are milked, what it takes to look after the cattle, and learned some new terms about cows. We were lucky enough to see 2 new baby calves and the students were challenged to come up with names that begin with E and B. The students learned that the calves’ names need to begin with the same letter as the mother.
As part of our visit, we categorized dairy products and non-dairy products. Afterward, we conducted an experiment with heavy cream, salt, and a mason jar and student predicted what will happen. We did lots of wondering. We had a fun day on the farm with all of our friends and learned a lot about how to care for the animals on the dairy farm and what work is involved.
