Salamander Spotted
Landmark 12 (Nearby Plants and Animals)
This weekend was perfect for hiking. On our Sunday hike, the ground was still wet from an early morning rain so we decided to turn a few logs over to see what we could find. After observing a few that housed ants, worms, and centipedes, we turned over one final log near a pond and got a huge surprise- a yellowed-spotted salamander! No one in our family had ever seen one before so we were all very excited.
