Dirty Hands, Growing Seeds
Landmark 10 (Grow and Eat Food)
The hands were dirty and seeds were growing this May in Mrs. O’Neill’s grade 3 class at St. Joes in Douro! We made a huge batch of soil soup together, figuring out what ingredients are needed to make soil. With that soil, the students were asked to find a seed and plant it in a pot and see what happened. There were so many great results. There were beans and sunflowers and tomato plants and some students were able to take us on a tour of their gardens as they talked about what they were growing and what they wanted to eat from their garden. Lyla even has a pumpkin patch. There are a lot of green thumbs in this group.
