Flowering Curiousity
Landmark 3 (Exercise Senses Daily)
A few of the children in our toddler room have been very curious about flowers during our community walk so the educators in the room created a flower bin. The children picked up the flowers from the bin and began to talk about the different colours they were finding on each flower. The children began to press the flower petals onto contact paper on the window where the petals stuck. One of the children lifted a flower to her nose and took a big whiff, “it’s beautiful,” she said. While sticking the flowers to the contact paper they noticed that there was a light coming through the flower petals but it wasn’t shining through our leaves. Another one of the toddlers lifted some flowers to her cheek and began to softly rub it against her skin, “woahhhhh,” she exclaimed.
