Discovering Habitats
Landmark 11 (Celebrate each Season)
Mr Ritchie’s class at Highland Heights PS are in the midst of learning about habitats. What a great opportunity to explore the back woods for evidence of habitat and the creatures that are sharing this space. The discovery of a goldenrod gall and trying to imagine what it would be like to live in such a small space all winter was contrasted with the many birds that are on their way south or here to stay for winter. The students also had a chance to choose an animal and try to mimic the nest that they may make as part of their habitat.
