Forest Skills
Landmark 17 (Three New Outdoor Skills)
Dana Doyle’s class from Millbrook South-Cavan made their way to Medd’s Mountain Forest to create debris shelters. Having spent some time at Camp Kawartha learning about fire building and bow drills, this was a logical program to continue their survival skill knowledge. They used existing structures created by the trees and roots in the forest to create a shelter that would keep them warmer on a cold October night.
