Mitig!

Landmark 7 (Books, Songs, Games Weekly)

Our class got to meet Melody Crowe (KPR Native Education Liaison) this morning! She first shared her medicine wheel on her special stone and how the colours each represented a season. Many of the students enjoyed sharing their favourite season and were also inspired to paint their own stone-like Melody’s. Melody also read a book called “It’s a Mitig” by Bridget George. We heard the Ojibwe words for different parts of the natural world; the animals, plants, and non-living things such as the water.
