How Seeds Travel

Landmark 12 (Nearby Plants and Animals)

Over the past few weeks we have been learning about seeds and how they travel. We headed out to our pollinator garden armed with magnifying glasses to take a closer look at how the seeds are travelling from different plants. Students wore clean socks on their hands and gently brushed their hands against different plants to see if any seeds stuck. The favourite plant to try this on was the thistle! Students loved to experiment with all the different materials a thistle would attach on to and were really interested in seeing the little hooks close up with the magnifying glass.
