Wax Paper Snowflakes
Landmark 11 (Celebrate Each Season)
Today we completed an inquiry on why snow is white. After making predictions and then learning why snow generally appears white, we completed a craft using wax paper to make our own snowflakes. Students experimented with the wax paper and using the information that they now know about snow, used layering in order to make the wax paper snowflake less transparent and more white looking. This inquiry activity was provided by the “mystery science” website.
