The Great Spruce

Landmark 7 (Books, Songs, Games Weekly)

We are using our senses as we investigate some evergreen branches. What do they look like? Do they have needles or scales? What do they smell like? We read The Great Spruce by John Duvall, in which a young boy finds a way to save his favourite tree, a spruce tree. The tree was important to the boy and his family, just like the trees around us, are important to us and the other animals that live here.
