Great Backyard Bird Count
Landmark 12 (Nearby Plants and Animals)
It’s the Great Backyard Bird Count! This morning we listened to some popular bird songs (linked below). The resource we used is from Minnesota, so we listened for ones we have heard in our local environment. The kids really identified the chickadee as the song they hear most often, so we then watched a video from Camp Kawartha, where we learned how to attract and “speak chickadee”. We then went for a walk to the park, and observed the birds along the way spotting, chickadees, crows and a bright red, male cardinal.
