Forest Hike
Landmark 14 (Five New Outdoor Activities)
Today we went to the Warsaw outdoor education centre where Naturalist, Sharon McGee, took the class around for a full day of outdoor fun! Our day started with a hike through the forest where the students looked for animals that were hiding. The students were able to find all ten animals… with some help from Sharon. The students then explored the wooded area and found animal tracks and animal scat. Some students found spiders and mouse tunnels! The students enjoyed playing a game of wolf and rabbit. All the students were rabbits and hid in the forest but had to be able to see Sharon who was the wolf from their hiding place. If the wolf was able to see you, you were ‘eaten’. For lunch, the student enjoyed roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over an open fire. Overall even in the rain and being wet the students had a great day!!
