Big New World
Landmark 3 (Exercise Senses Daily)
The babies and toddlers at the School for Young Moms love to explore the big new world outdoors. There is so much sensory information to be explored in a dry, withered leaf leftover from the fall. We watched it blow in the wind and we chased it on our sturdy little legs. We picked it up in our tiny fingers. We listened to it crunch as we crumbled it in our fists. We tore pieces off with our strong hands. We discovered that the stem was skinny but stiff and wouldn’t tear like the leaf- even if we grunted loudly to help. The leaf felt so different then the gritty damp sand. We wanted to taste it too but discovered it wasn’t very yummy.
