Sap and Syrup

Landmark 5 (Garden/Care for Animal)

We finished boiling down the first sap we had collected and made maple syrup! We continued to collect sap and boiled down that sap too. Our two jars of syrup are very different! We made pancakes today and had the opportunity to try both types of syrup. The first one is dark brown and very sweet. Most students really liked the flavour and texture. The second syrup has a golden colour and some of the students didn’t enjoy its flavour. It was so interesting seeing and tasting the two different syrups we made!
