Nature Soup
Landmark 1 (Explore Together Weekly)
We decided to make the best of the rainy day and make a big pot of nature soup. We collected natural objects from our school forest habitat and then had to hunt for water. We found some water on plant leaves and inside some flower shots. It began to rain, so we left the pot outside in the kindergarten yard. At the end of the day, we checked to see how our soup was coming along and discovered that the rain helped supply some more water. When we took turns stirring the soup we discussed how the natural objects are important in nature. One child shared that the pine cone is important because it feeds animals and another child shared that the grass is important because birds use it for their nests.
