Discovering Puddles

Scarlett and “C” were colouring with chalk on the pavement. They moved onto the grass in the field and was trying to colour pieces of grass to see if it would show and as they were colouring the grass they discovered a big puddle. Scarlett and “C” started dipping the chalk into the water and watched the colour transform into a darker colour. “C” dipped half of the chalk piece in the water and said, “look it’s half-light, and half dark, it’s a dark shade of pink and a light shade of pink”. They dipped all their chalk into the water and wanted to see if it made a different shade on the pavement and they succeeded and compared the dry shades of chalk with the wet shades.
