Explore Different Culture

Landmark 21 (Meet Other Cultures)
Our educator who is from India made a sweet dish called Sooji Halwa, which is a very common and traditional food in Indian cuisine. It is made of samolina, Ghee (made from butter) and sugar. It was really a unique experience for everyone to see how we ourselves feel before we try something new. It was a learning opportunity for everyone. Some were hesitate, some were excited and some were waiting for others to try first to see their expressions. It reminded us about how there can be a mixture of feelings for the children to try different food, language and environment. Our children and staff tried this traditional dish and it was great to see how some really enjoyed the flavours.
