Landmark 5 (Garden/Care for Animals)
When Aubrey was exploring the black bean sensory bin, she took a few beans from the bin, grabbed a shovel and moved over to our raised garden beds. Aubrey dug a small hole in the ground and placed a couple beans in the hole and said, “look I’m going to see if these will grow” She continued, saying, “it’ll need rain and sun to help the beans grow, hopefully they grow so tall”
Later, Adeline and Ava dug a tiny hole in the garden box and replanted a tiny weed they found, saying that they hope it’ll grow into something bigger. They also mentioned how they need rain and sunshine for the plant to grow. The children showed an interest in planting, hoping their plants and beans will grow to something bigger. In the spring, we will be looking into options to plant our garden to scaffold their interest, and we are looking for something to grow in the summer!
