Landmark 17 (Three New Outdoor Skills)

Grade 5 students have been exploring Indigenous teachings and traditions. Today, we learned how to play the game of snow snake (or gawasa, in the Seneca language). Students built their own tracks in the snow and used metre sticks as the ‘snakes’. We used our measurement skills to track whose snow snake traveled the farthest. Our top score was 12 m 51 cm! Wow!
