Dot Art

Landmark 21 (Meet Other Cultures)

Karri from Métis Nation visited us to share her culture through dot art. We were shown examples of this type of art and then we were instructed on how to make one of our own. We used a tool to dip into small amounts of paint and then dotted them on canvas to make designs. After painting, we also read some of our Indigenous stories including “Awasis and the World Famous Bannock.” This was a great morning learning and building relationships with someone from a different culture from us. The children were very engaged in making their art and we are very grateful for Karri’s generosity in sharing this experience with us!
