Split Tree

Landmark 12 (Nearby Plants and Animals)

Noah: “Hey Cat, come over here and look at this tree. See the bark is split? It looks kinda broken. Maybe some woodpeckers came and were trying to get bugs and accidentally split the tree bark. I wonder if they got the bug.” Cat: “That’s an interesting idea! It does look kind of strange, doesn’t it?” N: “Mmhmm…oh wait! See there are two spots up here, they look like eyes, and the long split in the bark could be a mouth, or a nose and mouth!”
C: “Oh, I see it! It looks like it’s going like this 😲” N: “It does! Like it’s trying to eat up all the bugs before the woodpeckers can get them!”
