We read “At Grandpa’s Sugar Bush” by M. Carney and J. Wilson, to learn more about the process of collecting sap and making maple syrup. This is a beautifully written and illustrated story that provides lots of factual information about maple sugaring. It got the students even more excited about the trees we tapped.
