Changing Season

Landmark 1 (Explore Together Weekly)

All week we have been immersing ourselves in the science of the changing season. Slippery ice that cracks with stomps and jumps, puddles ready for fun, and crystal-like snow have all led to our learning about how spring sunshine has begun to transform our frozen world. We have stuck our boots and sticks into water patches we didn’t even know existed, as the delight of the winter melts into a joyful spring. How deep are these puddles and how high can we make their contents jump? Water seems to be everywhere! To build upon this learning and make the most of the perfect blue sky, today we travelled far beyond our regular winter route, passing the sumacs and cat tails, all the way to the babbling brook. These friends are comfortable and enthusiastic in all kinds of weather, as we know from yesterday’s soggy fun. The sunshine was a real treat, and I was so happy to experience all of nature yet again with friends who are capable, confident and truly free spirited.
